This immersive trip to India is an absolute life changing event. We begin our adventure in ancient Delhi. A dynamic blend of history, culture, and modernity, this magical city has always drawn travelers with its irresistible charm. Old Delhi will mesmerize us with its labyrinthine lanes, bustling bazaars, and iconic monuments like the Red Fort and Jama Masjid.  We’ll also visit, New Delhi, the cosmopolitan counterpart,  with its leafy boulevards, chic cafes, and contemporary art galleries. The city’s rich culinary scene tantalizes taste buds with its diverse flavors, from mouthwatering street food to haute cuisine. 

Next we’re off to Agra, the epitome of love and architectural brilliance. We’ll visit its crown jewel, the Taj Mahal, a testament to the timeless romance between Emperor Shah Jahan and his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. We’ll also visit the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site,  and delve into the city’s vibrant culture by exploring its bustling bazaars, where artisans showcase exquisite handicrafts, leather goods, and traditional sweets. We’ll immerse ourselves in the city’s rich heritage through its culinary scene, sound and light shows, cultural performances, and heritage walks.

Next is Ranthambore and it’s famous Indian Tiger preserve.

Ranthambore National Park, nestled in the rugged terrains of Rajasthan, offers a captivating wildlife experience for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike. Renowned for its thriving population of majestic Bengal tigers, Ranthambore provides a rare opportunity to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. we’ll go on a jungle safari through the park’s dense forests and open grasslands, where we may also encounter other wildlife such as leopards, sloth bears, wild boars, and a diverse array of bird species.

Ranthambore’s rugged landscape, dotted with ancient ruins and historic temples, adds a layer of intrigue to the safari experience. We’ll explore the remnants of Ranthambore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the 10th century, perched atop a rocky outcrop and offering panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness.  

Then on to Jaipur and Jodhpur. Jaipur, the vibrant capital city of Rajasthan, has architectural marvels that make it a must-visit destination. Here we’ll visit the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the City Palace, and the Jantar Mantar observatory, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Jodhpur Jodhpur, also known as the “Blue City” due to the distinctive blue-painted houses in its old town area, is a captivating destination.

Finally, we’ll also experience Varanasi, known as Benaris, which is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. is considered the spiritual capital of India and is believed to be the holiest of the seven sacred cities in Hinduism and holds immense religious significance. We’ll visit Explore the iconic ghats lining the banks of the Ganges River, and experience the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony, a daily ritual where priests offer prayers to the river, accompanied by chants, music, and the lighting of lamps.

Itinerary

Day 1 :
Departure

We leave home for a long flight to New Delhi, India, arriving the next day!

Welcome to India! Arrive at Delhi International Airport, where our trip leader will escort us to the hotel. As the capital of India, New Delhi boasts a rich history with many preserved monuments, ancient forts, and tombs, reflecting its past as the seat of powerful empires. Rest and recover from your trip, stroll around the area  at leisure, and meet for dinner.

Day 3 :
Delhi

After breakfast, we will embark on a full-day city tour of Old and New Delhi. In the Old City, we will drive past the Red Fort, built by Emperor Shah Jahan (outside visit only), and visit Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. We will also visit Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, and enjoy a walking tour in Chandni Chowk, the bustling silver street of Delhi. For lunch, we recommend dining at a local restaurant in Delhi (on a direct payment basis).

In the afternoon, we will visit Qutab Minar, the tallest stone tower in India. Next, we will explore Humayun’s Tomb, built in the Indo-Persian style and a predecessor to the Taj Mahal in Agra. We will also drive past India Gate, a War Memorial Arch, and see the President’s House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat buildings, and Connaught Place, the heart of New Delhi and a busy shopping center.

Breakfast

Today, we will drive to Agra (205 kms/Approximately 4.5 hrs). Upon arrival, we will visit the Taj Mahal, a breathtaking monument often considered one of the most beautiful structures ever built. The Taj Mahal, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, is known as ‘The Monument of Love’.

Next, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Agra Fort. Mughal emperor Humayun was crowned here, and it was later renovated by emperor Akbar from 1565 to its present-day structure in 1573. This fort served as the main residence of the Mughal rulers until 1638, when the capital shifted from Agra to Delhi. It was also known as “Lal-Qila” or “Qila-i-Akbari.” We’ll explore local markets before transferring to our hotel and checking in.

Breakfast

After breakfast, we will drive to Ranthambore (310 kms/Approximately 7 hrs). En route, we will visit the deserted red sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri, built by Emperor Akbar as his capital. This city, constructed between 1571 and 1585, offers a unique example of high-quality architectural ensembles.

Following our visit to Fatehpur Sikri, we will continue our drive to Ranthambore. Ranthambore National Park, located in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, is one of the largest and most popular national parks in North India and a star attraction of wildlife tourism in Rajasthan. Upon arrival, we will check in at the hotel and enjoy lunch and dinner at the hotel.

Early in the morning, we will embark on a thrilling game drive in Ranthambore National Park. After our adventure, we will return to the hotel for breakfast. The rest of the morning will be at leisure for independent activities.

In the afternoon, we will head out for another exciting game drive in the park. In the evening, we will return to the hotel to relax and unwind. Overnight stay at the hotel in Ranthambore.

We will begin our day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a leisurely free morning  Then, we will drive to Jaipur (165 kms/Approximately 3 hrs). Upon arrival, we will check in at our hotel.

Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is renowned for its royal heritage. Founded in 1727, the Old City, also known as the “Pink City” due to its distinctive building color, is a highlight. At the heart of its impressive street grid lies the opulent City Palace complex, featuring gardens, courtyards, and museums, with part of it still serving as a royal residence.

Day 8 :
Jaipur

After breakfast, we will embark on a sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Our tour begins with a visit to Amber Fort, with an en route stop at Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Known for its artistic elements, Amber Fort overlooks Maota Lake, the main water source for the fort. This magnificent fort, a blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture, features large ramparts, series of gates, and cobbled paths, and is constructed of red sandstone and marble. The opulent palace is laid out on four levels, each with its own courtyard, and showcases both Rajput and Mughal architectural influences.

In the afternoon, we will visit the City Palace, a stunning palace complex now housing a museum filled with treasures. This beautiful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture is a must-see. We will then continue to Jantar Mantar, the Royal Astronomical Observatory, featuring 19 astronomical instruments built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh. Completed in 1734, it boasts the world’s largest stone sundial and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Finally, we will explore the local market before returning to our hotel.

After breakfast, we will drive to Jodhpur (335 kms/Approx. 7 hrs), with an en route visit to Pushkar, one of the most ancient cities of India. In Pushkar, we will explore the Brahma Temple, one of the few temples dedicated to Brahma in the world, and visit the famous Pushkar Lake, which has 52 ghats. The sacred lake resounds with chants and hymns from the 400 blue-colored temples located on its banks. Continuing our journey, we will arrive in Jodhpur, the second-largest city of Rajasthan and historically the capital of the Kingdom of Marwar. Known as the “Blue City,” Jodhpur features many palaces, forts, and temples set in the stark landscape of the Thar Desert. Upon arrival, we will check in at the hotel and enjoy an overnight stay in this fascinating city.

Day 10 :
Jodhpur

After breakfast, we’ll begin our sightseeing tour of Jodhpur. First, we’ll visit the impressive Meherangarh Fort, known for its stunning architecture and panoramic views. Later, we’ll take a walking tour of the Blue City, exploring its lively streets and enjoying local delicacies like Lassi and Kachodi. In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a Jeep safari to the Bishnoi Villages, experiencing rural life and traditions. We’ll return to the hotel in the evening for relaxation and overnight stay.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on a scenic drive to Udaipur, covering approximately 240 kilometers in about 6 hours. Enroute, we will visit the magnificent Ranakpur Jain Temple, renowned for its intricate architecture featuring 1444 intricately carved pillars, 24 pillared halls, and 80 domes supported by 400 columns. Each pillar is uniquely adorned, showcasing remarkable craftsmanship. The temple’s highlight is the Chaumukha Shrine, housing a 6-foot-tall statue of Lord Adinath and a four-headed image sheltered by a 108-headed snake. After exploring Ranakpur, we will continue our journey to Udaipur, the former capital of the Mewar Kingdom. Known for its picturesque lakes and opulent palaces, Udaipur will captivate us with attractions like the majestic City Palace overlooking Lake Pichola, adorned with intricate peacock mosaics. Upon arrival in Udaipur, we will check-in at the hotel and unwind, preparing for a delightful exploration of this historic city.

Day 12 :
Udaipur

After breakfast, we will embark on an excursion to explore the charming city of Udaipur, known as the “City of Lakes,” just an hour’s drive away. During our guided tour, we will visit the majestic City Palace, a conglomerate of eleven palaces built in 1725, overlooking the serene Lake Pichola. This architectural marvel in granite and marble now serves as a museum, royal residence, and luxury hotel. Our next stop will be the Jagdish Temple, constructed in 1651 by Maharaja Jagat Singh, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and featuring a rare black marble deity, unique in northern India where marble statues of deities are more common. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a leisurely boat ride on Lake Pichola, where we will admire the picturesque islands housing historic palaces such as Jagniwas and Jagmandir, the former now transformed into a hotel that once served as the summer retreat for the prince of Mewar.

Arrive at Varanasi Airport and be greeted by our team. We’ll escort you to your hotel, approximately a 30-45 minute drive away. Varanasi, one of the oldest inhabited cities globally, dating back five thousand years, holds a mystical charm with its ancient architecture and deep association with Vedanta. Legend has it that Lord Shiva himself founded the city of Kashi, known today as Varanasi. In the evening, witness the sacred Ganga Aarti ceremony, a significant ritual where the holy Ganges is worshipped daily. Led by the head priest of the Gangotri Seva Samiti and performed by students of the Vedas and Upanishads, this mesmerizing ceremony takes place at the ghats. Guests will travel by rickshaw to the ceremony site and enjoy the Aarti from a balcony with a panoramic view. Afterward, return to the hotel for a restful evening.

Day 14 :
Veranasi

In the morning, we take a boat ride from Assi Ghat, where the Ganges and Assi rivers meet, passing landmarks like Tulsi Ghat and the Panch Parmeshwar Temple. Afterward, we return to the hotel for breakfast before visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple for a special darshan of Lord Shiva. Later, we explore Banaras Hindu University and its Bharat Kala Bhawan Museum, showcasing Indian art and culture. Next, we proceed to Sarnath, where Buddha gave his first sermon, visiting the Sarnath Museum to see Buddhist artifacts. In the evening, enjoy a culinary walk sampling morning dishes like Kachauri Sabji, Jalebi, Poori, Potato Chat, and Malaiyo—a unique milk foam dessert garnished with pistachios and almonds.
