Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, and the Amazon! All inclusive

Today we take an afternoon flight to Lima, arriving the following morning.

Once we clear customs in Lima, our private transfer will take us to your hotel in central Lima. After settling into our room, the rest of the day is yours to rejuvenate or walk around the city. Take a scenic walk through the bohemian neighborhood of Barranco for views of Lima’s gorgeous coastline. Around 7 we’ll meet for our welcome dinner at one of the gourmet restaurants within walking distance of our hotel.

After breakfast we’ll take a short flight to Puerto Mandonado where a representative from the Lodge will be waiting to transport us to EcoAmazonia Lodge, an eco lodge in the Amazon basin – boat! It will be an adventure.

Arriving at the EcoAmazonia Lodge we’ll have a welcome drink before get settled into your bungalow. We’ll then gather for have lunch.

After lunch, we will have a tour to the Caimán Cocha, a small lake with an abundant presence of Black Caiman (a species of alligator).

At the end of the evening, we will witness the spectacular sunset on the river, returning to the Lodge for a delicious dinner.

After breakfast, out guide will lead us on a hike towards the depths of the forest. During the journey, you will observe the flooded forest and a variety of Flora and Wildlife, finally arriving to the majestic Lake Apu Victor with its crystal clear waters, surrounded by marshes and giant trees.

Afterwards, we’ll head up to the Observation Deck to enjoy a panoramic view on the lake, observing Parrots, Macaws, Toucans, Camungos, Shanshos, Herons and other animals, such as Caimansand Turtles. And if we are lucky, we´ll see the Giant Otter.

After lunch our guide will take us to visit Monkey Island, a unique place in the heart of Madre de Dios River, five minutes away from the Lodge. During the hike, observe extraordinary landscapes, with an exuberant flora, sheltering a variety of monkey species in their natural habitat, such as Maquisapas, Capuchins, Small Lion Monkeys, Frailes, Cotos and other animal species like the Coati and Sloths and a great variety of birds.

After enjoying the sunset, we’ll head back to the Lodge for dinner.

After a final breakfast at the lodge, we board a boat for the journey back to Puerto Maldonado for a flight to Cusco. At the Cusco airport, we’ll meet our driver for a transfer to our hotel in the Sacred Valley. Since the Sacred Valley is at a lower altitude than Cusco, it’s the best way to acclimate to the altitude.

We’ll have a bit of time to relax before meeting for dinner.

After breakfast we meet our guide for an amazing tour before boarding the train to Machu Picchu.

Maras are a mesmerizing network of salt evaporation ponds that have been in use since the times of the Incas. These terraced pools, filled with mineral-rich water from a nearby subterranean stream, create a dazzling mosaic of white and pink hues as the water evaporates and leaves behind crystalline salt.

Moray is an archaeological site near Maras famous for its impressive circular terraces. The Incas used these concentric terraces as an agricultural laboratory, experimenting with different crops and microclimates. The site offers insight into Incan agricultural ingenuity.

Ollantaytambo is known for its well-preserved Inca ruins, including a massive fortress and temple complex. It offers a glimpse into the ancient civilization’s engineering prowess. The town itself is a living museum, with original Inca streets and buildings still in use.

At the end of the tour, we’ll catch the train to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu. On arrival, we’ll check in to our hotel, enjoy dinner, and get some rest before the next day’s adventure.

In the morning we’ll take our van up the mountain to Machu Picchu. Our guide will lead us on an unforgettable walk through Machu Picchu’s stone-lined paths, along the terrace edges, to the base of structures that testify to the extraordinary skill of its builders discussing the mystery and skill of its construction as you absorb the magical landscape that surrounds this important ruin.

After snapping some final photos we board the shuttle bus back to Aguas Calientes and return to Cusco by train. On arrival to Cusco, we’ll meet our driver for a transfer to the hotel where we will spend the night.

Today, we’ll go on a guided walking tour through the top sites in the city of Cusco. We’ll visit the Cusco Cathedral and the most important temple of the Inca Empire, Coricancha.

We’ll have a chance to enjoy the flavors and sites of the bustling San Pedro Market where our guide will point out the locally-grown fruits and vegetables, some new and some familiar. Next we’ll head into the San Blas neighborhood to watch artisans at work and purchase some unique Peruvian souvenirs.

After we’ve had your fill of shopping, our journey continues high above Cusco where the Inca ruins of Q’enqo and Sacasyhuamán watch over the city. Our guide will point out important details and little-known facts about these fascinating sites. The rest of the day is yours to explore.

After a hearty breakfast we head to the airport for our flight home – with more than a few memories!
