Let’s continue our tour of Southeast Asia by visiting Cambodia and Thailand after Vietnam. Here’s the itinerary for this amazing extension.
Day 1: Fly from Ho Chi Minh to Siem Reap, Cambodia. We’ll settle into our hotel, The Borei Resort in the city center. That evening, those who are interested can join Kevin to try local cuisine at the night street market.
Day 2: Today we take an all-day tour of Angkor Wat. This is one of the most iconic temples in the world. Leaving the hotel at 5:00 am to watch the beautiful sunrise at Angkor Wat temple – Ta Prohm temple (Tomb Raider temple) is famous for the gigantic roots of the Spung tree clinging over the structure of the temple, Angkor Thom city, the victory gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon temple, Baphoun temple, Royal palace enclosure, Phimean Akas temple, the Terrace of the elephant, the Terrace of the leper king, then visit Angkor Wat temple, a largest Hindu monument in the world.
Day 3: After a 4-hour tour of the floating village, we’ll head to the airport for our flight to Bangkok, where we’ll be staying at The Bandara Silom Hotel close to city center.
Day 4: Today we take the all-day tour of Bangkok starting at 10 AM. Exploring Bangkok with a private guide offers a tailored experience to discover its vibrant culture and rich history. Day 5: On our last full day we take a guided to to Ayutthaya. In the earlly morning we’ll first drive to the Bang Pa In Summer Palace. This impressive architectural gem is a mixture of a Chinese, European and Thai style palace and still used by the thai Royal family. Then you’ll get on a longtail boat along the famous Chao Praya river and the canals around Ayutthaya. This main river of Thailand is considered the mother of our land and flows from the North of Thailand to Bangkok and the Gulf of Thailand. A real local lunchawaits before we visit some of the most important ruins in town. The Wat Chai Wattanaram and Wat Mahatat are the 2 most beautiful temples in town and it will give you an everlasting impression of this once richest capital of Asia. Day 6: After breakfast we head to the airport for our return flight home.
