Overview

Come with us as we explore in depth two of the most fascinating cities in the world. You’ll see all the sites including Buckingham Palace, The Eiffel Tower, and so much more. Plus, you’ll make some lifelong friends to boot!

We’ll begin our exploration in Royal London. There we’ll visit Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle where the queen is buried, Westminster Abbey. We’ll also take a tour of London’s famous markets and pubs. In the evenings we’ll have a dinner cruise on the Thames, eat in the home of a local, and feast in several well-known French restaurant.

After four packed days in London, we’re off on the high-speed bullet train through the Chunnel to Paris, arriving in less than 5 hours! We’ll be going first class as we enjoy both the views of Southern England and Northern France. Once we check into our hotel in the Latin Quarter, we’ll head for a tour of unforgettable Montmartre, the famous artists’ colony of the 19th and 20th centuries. During our stay we’ll go to the top of the Eiffel Tower and spend time exploring the Louvre, the largest and most important museum in the world. The highlight of the trip will be dinner and show at the Moulin Rouge.

Day 1 - Friday :
fly to London

We board a plane for our overnight flight to London!

Day 2 - Saturday :
London

We arrive in London and transfer to the Tower Hotel. After unpacking we have the afternoon free to explore. If you wish, you can visit the phenomenal British Museum on your own. In the evening we meet for a welcome dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Day 3 - Sunday :
London

In the morning we meet our guide for a walking tour of the pubs and markets of central London. In the afternoon we journey to the magnificent Windsor Castle, the past home of Queen Elisabeth II, and childhood home of King Charles. In the evening we take a dinner cruise on the Thames River as we enjoy a traditional meal.

Day 4 - Monday :
London

Today is the day for our grand tour of London sites. Our guide will show us Westminster Abbey, Parliament, Big Ben, and St Paul’s Cathedral. The highlight will be watching the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace.

Day 5 - Tuesday :
London to Paris

We make an early exit to St Pancras Station (we’ll need to hunt for platform 3 ¾ as in Harry Potter) as we take a high-speed train through the Chunnel under the North Sea, arriving in Paris less than 5 hours. We’ll transfer to our hotels and settle in. In the afternoon, we’ll take a guided tour of Montmartre, home to artists such as Dali, Monet, Manet, and many others. We’ll tour the Sacre Coeur before having dinner and a show at the famous Moulin Rouge.

Day 6 - Wednesday :
Paris

Today we’ll take a guided tour of all that is Paris, including Notre Dame, the Arch de Triomphe, Champs Elysée, and much more. At 6 we’ll travel to the top of the Eiffel Tower for magnificent views in every direction. We’ll then walk across the Seine River to take in the sunset from the Trocadero. We’ll finish the day by visiting Paris’ fabled catacombs.

Day 7 - Thursday :
Versailles

On Thursday we’ll spend the whole day at the magical palace at Versailles. Versailles, a jewel of French history and architecture, stands as an epitome of grandeur and opulence. Nestled just outside Paris, this magnificent château holds a rich tapestry of historical significance. Originally a humble hunting lodge built by Louis XIII in the early 17th century, it was later transformed into a sprawling palace by his son, Louis XIV, known as the Sun King. Day 8 - Friday :
Louvre

This morning we take a guided tour of the incredible Louvre Museum. We’ll see the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, among thousands of other pieces from antiquity. In the afternoon we’ll decide whether to take a ride on the Seine, or to spend more time exploring the Louvre on our own.

In the evening we’ll have dinner in the home of a local as we say farewell to two incredible cities.

Return Home

Unless you’re staying for the post trip, we pack our bags and head home, arriving the same day.

London: Tower Hotel is directly on the Thames River and across the street from the infamous Tower of London. Tower Bridge can be seen from our windows.

Paris: Hotel Muguet, deep in the Latin Quarter, a half block from the Seine River, and close to Notre Dame.

Pre-Trip to Edinburgh
We’ll spend 3 nights in Edinburgh visiting the castle and taking a day trip to Loch Ness and the surrounding highlands. At the end of our visit, we’ll fly to London to join the group

We’ll travel by bus through the Loire Valley visiting wineries and staying in small local ints. Then we’ll take a guided tour north to visit the Beaches of Normandy, American and German military cemeteries, and the history of the region.
