Napa and Sonoma Wine Exploration
7 DaysWe’re heading back to Napa and Sonoma in 2025!
We’re heading back to Napa again in 2025. We had 3 sold-out trips in 2024, and we expect this will sell out as well. The tour begins in San Francisco where we will have a welcome dinner and stay at the Hotel Zephyr near Fisherman’s Warf. We will have a tour of San Francisco which includes the golden gate bridge and Muir Woods before heading to Napa for the rest of the week. We will tour a few wineries each day, we will also visit some small nearby towns where we will have walking/food tours and plenty of free time. We can enjoy all the beauty that this famous wine region is known for while receiving a little bit of education along the way. This is a relaxing vacation and a time to enjoy some great wine and great friends.

Itinerary
We will take an early morning tour of San Francisco, including a visit to Sausalito, where we will have lunch. Afterward, we will spend time in Muir Woods and visit the Golden Gate Bridge before heading to Napa by van. We will check into our hotel before going to dinner at a local favorite.
We will have the entire morning to explore Downtown Napa, where over a dozen tasting rooms await us. We’ll enjoy lunch at the Oxbow Public Market, with plenty of time to discover unique culinary products, the finest wines and craft beers, and a variety of dining options. Afterward, we’ll visit a few wineries in Yountville and take a leisurely stroll along the Napa River before dinner.
We will start the day at Sterling Vinyards to Enjoy the breath-taking views as you ascend to the winery via an aerial gondola. Upon arrival at the top of the hill, you’ll enjoy leisurely self-guided wine tasting of three wines as you stroll the winery for a behind the scenes look at the art and science of winemaking. This experience concludes with a seated tasting of two wines and a cheese board on our elevated Southview Terrace overlooking the Napa Valley, weather permitting. 90 minute experience.
All experiences include a round-trip gondola ride to and from Sterling hilltop winery.
We will also have to stop at the “Welcome to Napa” Sign for a group or individual photos before heading out to our next wine tasting. We will eat lunch at a local iconic landmark, Gott’s Roadside, started by the brothers who make Joel Gott wine.
We will finish the day with a tour of The Del Dotto wine caves where we can thief wine straight from the barrel as we learn about the wine making process.
We will travel to Healdsburg and visit the small town and take a walking food and wine tour. We will learn about the history of Healdsburg while visiting at least 3 tasting rooms where we can pair small bites of food with wine. We can have our Farewell dinner in Healdsburg before heading back to the hotel.
We will start the day at Gundlach Bundschu Named one of Travel + Leisure’s best wineries in Sonoma, Rhinefarm Estate has been owned, farmed and operated by our family since 1858. Our winery is known for our warm people, our cool climate, and our creative spirit. We make approachable, unpretentious wines of outstanding quality. Come on over and visit us for a wine tasting, vineyard experience or live music to get to know our laid-back Sonoma vibe.
Then we will travel to Sebastiani for some afternoon samples. Since Bill Foley’s purchase of Sebastiani in 2008, the winemaking team has taken a number of steps to produce world-class wines that showcase the great terroir and versatility of Sonoma County. One of the first things done under Foley’s direction was to decrease production, allowing for focused winemaking efforts on exceptional vineyard sites. In the cellar, a huge number of small lot wines are handled. The winemaking team is now able to experiment with techniques such as employing a more natural approach to Chardonnay by fermenting with indigenous yeasts found on the grape skins versus inoculating with commercial yeast strains, for example.
As a result, Sebastiani is making more concentrated, complex wines across all tiers – from the Sonoma County Selection to the Proprietor’s Selection. It’s exciting to be at Sebastiani these days.
We will be able to eat dinner and pack for our trip back tomorrow.
We will check out of the hotel and head to the SFO airport for our flight home
